German Turks Support Genocide Recognition

You certainly don't see this everyday.
On the initiative of "Union against Genocide" an event will be organized in Frankfurt April 24, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Organizers demand to proclaim April 24 as a universal mourning day for all nations of Turkey.

"Immigrants from Turkey feel great sorrow concerning the fact, that today genocides, which took place 92 years ago and were committed between 1915-23 towards Christian nations of the Ottoman Empire with the aim to exterminate them, are being denied."
To clarify, this is a call for Turkey to recognize all of its genocides: against Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, and others.

The Unique History of Hamshentsi Armenians

Ever hear of Hamshen? Do you know who the Hamshentsis are? Read on!
The Hamshen Armenians (Hamshentsi) are descendants of Armenians from the region of Hamshen, now in Turkey.

Founded in the 8th Century by the Armenian princes Hamam and Shapuh Amatuni, Hamshen was captured by the Ottoman Empire in 1489. By the 17th Century part of the Hamshen Armenians had been forcibly converted to Islam, while the majority escaped to maintain the survival of their Christian faith.
I can't possibly quote the entire article here, but read the whole thing. It's illuminating, to say the least!

Robert Kocharian Receives Orthodox People’s Unity International Foundation Award

I had no idea there was such an award, did you?
On January 21, a solemn awarding ceremony of the Orthodox People’s Unity International Foundation for “Outstanding activities for consolidation of unity of orthodox nations” took place in Moscow. The awarding ceremony was lead by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexi II. This year the awards were handed to:

-Armenian President Robert Kocharian for the contribution to the development of the church-state relations;

-UN 6th Secretary General Butros-Butros-Gali for prominent personal contribution to the promotion of Christian spiritual values;

-Gazprom Russian company for assistance in renaissance of the Russian Orthodox Church and other churches throughout the globe.

The Armenian President is awarded as a consistent and active adherent to extension of Christian influence within the modern society.
While some countries fight bloody wars to separate the church from the state, Kocharyan is awarded for its further integration. A more apt award I cannot imagine.
