Turkish Groups Try Stopping Stallone's Genocide Movie

And yet again, a story from the past comes alive.
Turkish organizations are going to send protest letters to American movie actor Sylvester Stallone who intends to screen Franz Werfel’s ‘The 40 Days of Musa Dagh’.

Savaş Eğilmez, the chairman of the so-called ‘Association on struggle against Armenian Genocide acknowledgement’ stated that [Franz Werfel's novel] is full of lie since the author wrote it after talking to the Armenians with nationalistic and radical views.”

In his words, “It is necessary to take appropriate measures till the start of shoots, since after everything has already began it will be more difficult. “We have already sent appropriate documents about the events of those days to the producers of the film. Our compatriots will assist us to urge the producers not to shoot the film,” he underlined
If you look at the original blog entry linked above, Stallone understands that Turkey has been trying to keep the genocide as a whole under wraps for 85 years, so I doubt he will be derailed by these futile efforts.

It must be really hard to be a Turk these days, what with all of these Armenians making ridiculously laughable claims about genocides and all. It's a good thing such an organization as the "Struggle against Armenian Genocide acknowledgement" exists.

Here's an idea, why don't you email the leader of this triumphant organization and tell him how you feel about this issue? Here's his email address: Savaş Eğilmez

i'd rather be 'uneducated and stubborn' than a lier. Don't take it personally, i am calling those, who escaped Ottoman Empire with tons of money and lived off the money they stole all over the world, a lier and much more. You are just a dumb who wants to believe in something. We expect that unfortunate things might have happened during World War 1. But we are aginst the label of 'Genocide'. Why don't you, for one second' try to look at things from the other side of the coin. Any reasonable person would see that these are all set up scenarios to save Armenia from its current situation. At whose expense? Of course, Turkey. The country with lots of enemies.

So you are calling us like lier, dumb and 'uneducated and stubborn'and saying not to take it personally! How?.
Look!i made my thesis on it ok!i have checked ,looked at the proofs with my professor with his armenian professor friends. And they saw these evidences.but he said political reasons dones't allow to reveal them.he even got a phone call to cover them. But anyway how can i be so sure anyway?i wasn't there? But still why are you so stucked with it?thats what i want to know really.

another thing->"Of course, Turkey. The country with lots of enemies."?which country has truely got friends?i don't know that country!(i don't even believe that azerbaijan is our friend!)

none of our singers made songs about your leaders that say lier ,killer to your leaders! Why do you think?

One more thing,i think swearing around like "lier uneducated stubborn" gives a little bit of a clue to people about that persons education and selfrespect level. At least thats what we believe in turkey!

-i don't believe that ->"But we are aginst the label of 'Genocide'"-->i think no body believes that because whenever i saw a person they say either "there was or there was no genocide" i never heard any kind like that?

-"uneducated and stubborn some of you Turks are"->so if we say"there was no genocide" we are that huh?and i wanna tell all the people if you want to be a "uneducated and stubborn TURK" just say "there was no genocide" even if you are an american. Then there you are!So i think there's no right to say what you think or believe or in my situation saw because people will swear at you in armenia i guess!

-unlike other countries nobody gone into prison in turkey because they said "there was genocide".
-try to say anythink about denying genocide in some countries!

And i also i believe that you should support sly because he's using our political problem to earn more money!not because his political beliefs.don't Even suprise if he starts to make a movie about no genocide kinda thing after that movie! If i were you i should support that!

finally im not gonna answer any of those anymore!but please don't swear ok!just say what you believe!swearing doesn't solve anythink!i know my previouse comment was wrong.i overreacted. Please forget about it!So i apologize.but you gotta admit your blog isn't impartial.Comments should be impartial not the reports or news!
But again hey what do i know?im just an uneducated and stubborn TURK,right?

Easy my friend. I am on your side. I am not sure what i said lead you to believe that i was supporting the genocide thesis or genocide lie as i was referring to in my previous comment. My comment was in response to the 2nd comment who called Turks 'uneducated and stubborn'. One more comment on that. One must not be educated to differentiate truth from a lie. And yes, we are stubborn because we are basing what we say and believe in on truth. How far can one go basing something on a lie? Not further than the current situation i suppose and hope. Those who back this lie for their own interest will come to their senses.
