Armenian Stabbed to Death in Moscow

This is simply outrageous! Russia is supposed to be Armenias friend, yet is stands idly by while innocent minorities are slaughtered on its streets. This is despicable!
46-year-old Armenian immigrant Karen Abramian who was earlier attacked by skinheads in the Russian capita, died in the hospital.

...while stabbing him the [three] unknown young men shouted nationalistic slogans.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with this murder.
Putin: instead of rigging elections and arresting innocents for opposing you, secure the streets of the capital for the people! How many more innocent men, women, and children have to die before Russians snap out of their Vodka-induced comas and voice their outrage?

Yet Another Armenian Soldier Killed by Azeri Sniper

Remember this a few weeks back? Well, another Armenian soldier has met the same fate.
On February 14, at about 09:30, an Azeri sniper wounded the major Ervand Pashikyan (b. in 1958), contractual serviceman, in the chest. Ervand Pashikyan died on the spot, RA Defense Ministry reports.

The investigation is under way.
I find it sad that virtually nothing is done after such killings: a few words condemning the act here, a few harsh words there, and that's it. Then again, short of an all-out war, what can be done? Obviously, we have to involve the international community, but all too often these soldiers get forgotten shortly after all is said and done.

Hrant Dink Killed in Turkey

This is what we know so far:
A prominent Turkish-Armenian editor, convicted in 2005 of insulting Turkish identity, has been shot dead outside his newspaper's office in Istanbul. The US, EU and Armenia have condemned his murder and Turkey's leaders vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

"A bullet has been fired at democracy and freedom of expression," Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a hastily convened news conference.

Dink was given a six-month suspended sentence in October 2005 after writing about the Armenian genocide of 1915. Dink was among dozens of writers in Turkey who have been charged under 301 of Turkey's penal code with insulting Turkish identity, often for articles dealing with the killing of Kurds and Ottoman Armenians.
This is a real tragedy and shows just how much Turkey has to change before it should even be considered as an ally of Armenia, the EU, or the world.

A big thanks to Sassna and Khoren for suggesting the story as it broke.
