Funny...but his accent didnt sound Armenian...it was like an "otdar" trying to speak with an Armenian accent..
The main thing that bothered me was the jibberish at the end. All that does is propel the stereotype that everyone speaks some arabic-ish language with dirka and kh-gh-kh. *sigh* Thank the stanzis for dragging our names through the mud.
Gandon Gyadek
i dont really see similarities this more like a jew and an arab so...well said to the brother below me
Its pretty funny, but if you ever notice other comedians/singers doing this, they never "slam their own females"...but what do I know.
1. The wanna-be Turk-look-a-alike dimwit on the video successfully proves himself to be lower than those he attempts to mitigate. If he is Armenian, shame on him for selling whatever soul he thought he had in exchange for a mere echo of laughter.
2.In response to "Thank the stanzis for dragging our names through the mud" by Anonymous on July 24, 2007 3:14 AM:
First of all "hyastancis" = Armenians who are descendants of those who have lived in Armenia for generations dating before those from Iran and Beirut (who went to Armenia seeking a modern European christian life).
Second, thank the "stanzis" for giving you a name in the first place. True, Armenians are not perfect, and don't pretend to be. But you can also thank non-hyastanzis for whitewashing their own insipid identity.
If you really care about your name, open your mind to see that the problem with the Armenian name is a collective conflict, requiring all Armenians to take part. Instead of pointing your finger at the group who is the most honest about who they are--even about their own dishonest lifestyles at times--and instead of giving a "*sigh*"--do something constructive.
Most people respect and even envy Armenians for their success in every field despite their small world population.
Also, shwarma and falafel are not Armenian foods, and most likely originated in Arabic culture.
You aim at humor, but only achieve shame. Hope your mother gets to see your video.
sooo, lemme get this straight. we should thank haystanzis for giving us a name that cause others to prejudge who we are?
And a "sigh" is all I really can do because their ears are never open to hear anyone's words. How do u expect a people that accuse those of us who speak a western dialect of not speaking "real armenian" to give a rip about anything we say?
and gg to the "whitewashing" comment. I'm Adanazi, a "non-hayastanci"; If you're better than those of us who are "white-washed," then I'm assuming you know what happened there. We "white-washed" folk haven't forgotten, that's as much a part of our identity. You remember who took the brunt of the genocide before you accuse some of us of having an "insipid identity."
Dude, who is this guy? hes not even Armenian.
Also, "words of wisdom" made some very good points.
Ok, now I think its racist..this guy isnt even armenian..his name is psychomike and hes latino..heres his myspace:

Well, he got you talking didn't he? He's right and you know why I say it, because what he says hurts and the message that TRUTH delivers always hurts. Get a life and start looking at the big picture in living in the USA.

" sooo, lemme get this straight. we should thank haystanzis for giving us a name that cause others to prejudge who we are? "
You are a hypocrite, Anonymous. It is not others, but you, who is prejudicial. By saying "thank the stanzis for dragging our names"--you are prejudging hyastancies.
My contention was that the Armenian name is constantly slushed through muds by all, and that singling out hyastancies (who also happened to be the subject of this video) is prejudicial on your side.
As to "non-hyastancies," I am not saying that they are in any way inferior. However, they too drag the armenian name in their own ways.
Those who disparage your dialect are not right. But they are wrong not because they are hyastancie, but because they--much like you in some respects--are ignorant. And ignorance is exactly the problem that needs to be addressed in light of the digression and disintegration in the Armenian community.
Also, yes the truth hurts. And while the truth is ugly, what hurts more is when people rather live a beautiful lie than an ugly truth--so when you tell anyone to:
"Get a life and start looking at the big picture in living in the USA."
remember that driving civics and screaming "vtech bro," or living an elitist boyscout-joining private-school-going life, is sometimes as American as playing bellot in GCC and driving german cars.
SO.... when some piece of shit starts making a video making fun of 1 type of the many types of armenians, don't be so quick to take your finger out of your ass and point it on the hyastancies... because that type of shit that smells on your finger, is the exact type of shit that causes others to think that they can succeed in committing and then forgetting the genocide.
basically, Shut the f*ck up.
It's kind of sad too see animosity between our own people here. Neither side is less guilty than the other from what I've read, but it seems one guy started all the chaos. I'm Adanatsi as well, but don't quite hold the same opinion. I know enough people to know that there's enough blame to go around. While I've experienced a similar situation at work where two guys implied that what I spoke is "real Armenian" as anon said, I know enough Lipanantsi and Turkahyes who look down on Hayastantsis. Either way, what I'm getting at is there is equal fault on both sides, so word is somewhat right in saying everyone needs to take part in resolving this. I am a little confused on insipid culture claim.
818, I think you need to look into the history of Turkish Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. We were always called dhimmi because we were non-muslims. We as a people (all Armenians) have always maintained our faith regardless of the oppression suffered. Be it persecution by persians, genocide at the hand of the turks or the iron fist of the USSR, we've never turned our backs on God.
Ok all of you who are getting angry need to calm down and look at this from an outsiders point of view. The whole thing start because I "Brow" was an intern at KROQ and they guys their really wanted to have so fun with us armenians. So "razmig haroutunian" wrote this song and we made a video for it. its nothing more then joke. thats it. All the people who work there like armenians and have armenian friends. they make fun of every one. seriously just laugh and enjoy the exposure our culture is getting. oh and BROW DOWN!!
People need to lighten up. The guy in the vid is Psycho Mike, from the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ (check out kroq.com). He's half Irish and half Mexican (go figure).
If you've never listened to this show, you need to do it before you yell "Racist!"
These guys diss everybody regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, etc etc.
Take it for what it is - a spoof. By the way, stereotypes are somewhere between 80-90 percent right everytime, so quit pretending that most Armos don't drive BMW, don't smoke, don's use jewelry - and lastly - are not hairy...because they are...
I have to say, Armenian chicks are beautiful...take it from this Latino guy...
looooooooooooool fuck haterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
