Armenian Police Clear Protesters

The dream is over, but not like the girls in the picture care. They're out protesting because their friends are there, happy with any outcome.
Scuffles broke out as police began forcing the demonstrators on to buses after 10 days of protests against the alleged rigging of the election.

Hundreds of police moved against the opposition camp on Freedom Square early on Saturday, dispersing the few hundred protesters still there. Media were kept away from the square as army lorries took away the protesters' tents.
But I thought Armenia was a democracy! That protesting would have an effect! That kindess would win over evil! What happened??

Reality happened.

It was democracy, the majority wins. Just because a few thousand people wanted to change the result, doesn't mean it should happen. Can you imagine rallies being held in any Western country for 10 days and not ending the same way? I feel the government did a good job in handling the situation with patience.

lol words from a great idiot who buys into the government allegations...nobody wanted serzh...the whole vote was rigged and don't tell me some foreign organization says it was fair...we all know nothing in Armenia is fair.

No election is every going to be completely fair. It's easy to look at Armenia and find things wrong, but what country can you say doesn't have the same flaws. Even in the US there is plenty of vote tampering. From people I know in Armenia, it was clear to them that Serzh was the favorite ahead of Levon. Even his pre & post-election rallies drew larger crowds than the measly 10-20,000 that Levon was able to get.

btw, that's a great sign of a Levon supporter, who automatically tries to insult his opponent or anyone with a different opinion.

Sevak you are the only idiot here. The election was by far better and more correct than any other since Armenia's independance. There was very little fraud and in all this years election was by far right than any other. Levon lost badly. Levon only recieved 20 percent as for Serzh, he recieved 53 percent of the vote in which he won by far. There was nothing riggid about it as it was being whatched Internationally. Even if there was some cases of fraud you can't compare Levon's amount of vote and Serzh's. BTW the majority did vote for Serzh and not your corrupt Levon.

Im not suprised either with these Levon supporters. Majority of them are criminals who just benefited from when Levon was in office. Levon was real good with only screwing up our government even more and pocketing all the little money we recieved. He shut down all our recources and sold out all the factories to foreign nations for very little money and whatever he recieved he pocketed to himself and his supportes. I don't ever want Levon in office its not his place. thanks to Levon there is chaos in Yerevan right now. people are dying in riots. As for him he only benefits from the riot and he supports them, what kind of president is that??? only a sore looser and in no way a president.

levon is the worst thing that could come to the armenian people. His failed policies from his first presidential experience will not help today's polices. He is dividing armenia instead of uniting and working with the other political figures. Armenia needs to unite in order to accomplish it's goals burning cars and destroying buildings in the street will not get you anymore support on the street. If a little country such as Armenia is divided over policies than how will we defend ourselves?

Hey anonymous douche bag get your head out of Serziks @$$ and realize that the whole election was a fraud. The people don't want him and they don't recognize him as president. Where are his supporters? How come we don't see thousands of Serzik supporters on the streets defending him. You know why because? Because he dosent have any. except for his police dogs. I support the people all the way. And F&%$ levon ter-Douchebagian. The Armenian people need a good honest president that cares about the Armenian people and the Armenian cause, not money!

lol anynomous you pathetic Hayastanci idiot. Get your head out of your rear. First of all the Serzh supporters have no reason to protest and stand like a bunch of idiots embarassing our nation and creating chaos. Serzh won by far and this was docmented and observed on in inernatinal basis and was by far more fair and correct than any other previous election. Secondly Levon is in no way a good president and he doesn't give a rat's ass about you or anyone in Armenia. Look at his past experience..hmm lets see shuts down all the factories. Armenia went into a bigger crisis. people loose jobs. People starving. No lights. NOTHING while your Levon is making little profits Armenia even earned and pocketing it and benefiting only those around him. Like i said if you want to go embarass our nation go do that. nothing will change as you will only make things worse. plz go on embarass our nation. be the idiot you are. as for your Levon he has no place in office. Thats not his place. he has already proved that from his past experience. so learn something from that.

secondly i don't want my money like you do. your the Levon supporter not me. I just want our Armenia to prosper. BTW Our economy is growing fast and well. The last thing we need is your Levon.

lmao no im not a turk. im hayastanci too. =) lol you sound just like a LTP supporter. i were to be non-hayastancie Armenian you would have a problem with that?? aren't we all Armenian?. Secondly it it very stupid to blame Serzh Sargsyan and say that he was responsible for the killing Vasgen, Serzh at the time did not have much power secondly there would be no reason for him to do that. What you say is a myth. Its not really based on reality. You can't just Accuse Serzh because you don't really know if its true in the first place. Its makes you quite arrogant and more like a turk.
