Way to outdo yourselves, guys. It wasn't enough that you protested after a relatively fair election, and you continued still even after the police moved in to move you out. And now this:
A police spokesman said that eight people were killed and 33 police officers injured in the clashes. He said several officers had been injured by gunfire.This is why foreigners are afraid of Armenia, whether visiting or investing. We mock some of the destabilized countries in Africa and Latin America, but what do we do when it happens on our own turf by our own people? Do we point fingers and blame the other guy? Do we kill people and destroy property to show dissatisfaction?
Demonstrators hurled stones and petrol bombs, setting vehicles on fire, and police and troops responded with truncheons, tear gas and by firing bullets in the air.
TV pictures showed burnt-out cars and smashed shop windows in the city.

Let's not over-dramatize the events. They were tragic but not something we should allow to create a "dangerous" image for Armenia.
The elections were full of corruption and were not in any way as fair as they should have been. Furthermore, these protests and clashes with police are extremely common in the post-Soviet space. To single out Armenia is silly. Even in Europe and the pseudo-perfect U.S., there are such recent occurrences (though not necessarily after elections). Have we forgotten France of 2005 and Los Angeles of 1992?
Things have started to calm down, and life in Armenia will return to normal. Now it is time for Armenians to wisely judge and learn from the events, not create an image of horror to cause paranoia against Armenia from abroad and encourage yet another wave of emigration.
I hope that The people of Armenia don't rest until Serzink and his gang leave Armenia for good. Power to the people! Let them show the government that they are not sheeps. That they will not tolerate corruption and Dictatorship. And whoever thinks that the election was fair needs to take their head out of their @$$ and come back to reality!
You call it relativly fair election..thats funny because the fair part is yet to be proven..it was an utterly disgusting display of corruption, why not let the citizens choose who they want...you put down your country men for protesting for whats right and fair...Revolution and mass protest help get the message along..this country has been built on revolution and change and the world should see that armenia does not tolerat corruption and scandel
Wow, people think Serzh is the culprit here? The real culprit is LTP, why the hell is he back and allowed to run for office after screwing the country so badly when he was in office? If LTP wasn't at fault then why did he run and hide for many years?? If it wasn't for LTP these protests would NOT have taken place, those 9 people would NOT have died and guess what you assholes, Azerbaijan attacked Kharabagh today...you think that would have happpened if the protests didn't destabilize the security of the country (if not destabilized in reality, it was perceived to be destabilized letting the door open just enough for Azeribaijan to start attacking)? Instead of fighting our real enemy here, the Turks and Azeri's, these assholes (the last two commenters) are supporting a the most curropt of them all for president (LTP).

I always figured you to be a quizzling of the ruling regime but your total slander against the tens ofthousands of ordinary citizens that marched for their rights is really too much to stomach. Pleasecrawl back into your little comfort hole and shut out the realities staring you in the face. Oh yes, please leave Armenia on the first plane out and take your like-minded friends with you. Thanks to Levon and his policies, I did just that and left quite some time ago.
Once again, he's responsible for ruining the lives of thousands of people. That you can't see that is disappointing.
