Azerbaijan does not seem like a very nice place to live, I must admit.
Transmission of the First Channel (ORT) and RTR-Planeta Russian TV Channels will be stopped in Azerbaijan from January 2007...All those years of Soviet censorship have certainly influenced the future-minded Azerbaijanis. Now all they have to do is block the internet, censor the press, prosecute free speech, ban books, and so on. How far down the list are they?
The decision by the Azeri authorities might be conditioned by the information policy of the Russian TV Channels which cover developments in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
